halfternoon

The halfway point in the afternoon. The afternoon is between 12:00 and 5:00 pm, with the halfternoon occurring at 2:30 pm. People generally have a buffer of a half hour before and after halfternoon; therefore the usage is standard between 2:00 and 3:00 pm.
