Friendtor

Is there such a thing as a friend who can also act as a mentor? Sure! That's what I'd call a friendtor.

Words you can keep

friendtor

A friend that also doubles as a mentor.
Whilst most of us would like Oprah or Steve Jobs to be our mentors. Its ok for mentors to be closer to home and/or people who aren't necessarily superior in position to us they can be friends who guide us and give us good advice. They can be our friendtor

friendboy

A friend who is a boy but deliberately not a boyfriend because you want no emotional attachments or jealousy issues if you feel like kissing other people.

Synonym: (man) friend with benefits
Variation: friendman
Example

-Hey Kate I saw you kissing some boy at a party. I though you had a boyfriend...

-He's not my boyfriend he is my friendboy, therefore we are free to share our love amongst other people providing we don't do it in front of eachother and that we don't get off with each other's friends.

Frientor

A contraction of the words friend and mentor.
Friend - Person with whom time spent is mutually enjoyed.
Mentor - Person who can teach and, more importantly, inspire and motivate you.
A person who is both would be a frientor.
Lewis enjoys spending time with Rudy. Rudy is a couple of years older than Lewis, and can teach him things, while having a good time, because they have similar interests. This also causes Lewis to want to be better at the things that interest them both, in order to both impress and be more equal to Rudy in both confidence and expertise. Rudy is Lewis' frientor

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
