fanboyhood

A giddyness associated with an object of adoration, generally such as starwars, harry potter, star trek, or even the prospect of contact with celebrity. You may be a fanboy of something, for instance Robert Pattinson (although you should be judged for that), and this concept of devotion is fanboyhood.

I walked up to Buzz Aldrin, shook his hand and sat back down, overcome by fanboyhood.
