defuglification

The process of making someone appear less fugly, usually with the application of makeup and in extreme cases with corrective surgery.

1) After her defuglification surgery, the girl no longer needed to wear a bag over her head everyday.

2) Defuglification, possibly along with therapy, is the final step to curing Ugly Duckling Syndrome

Douglification

The phenomenon where one hears about something for the first time then later notices it everywhere. Often followed by urgent mass polling of the public with the question " DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS?!?", which is then followed by feelings if disbelief after realising one's own lack of knowlege in the face of the prevalence if said thing. Origin: ca. 2002; inspired after seeing "strong bad e-mail #55" from homestarrunner.com where Strong bad tries to get The Cheat to speak English. Also known as the baader-meinhof phenomenon, but 'douglification' was totally coined first #trustmeimadeitupfirst #mytermisbetteranyway

"How often do you ever hear someone say 'Douglas'?" *in the days that follow* "Shit man, I heard someone say 'Douglas', like, six times!"--"yep, douglification..totally douglification"

defunkification

The process of removing yourself from a funky environment and relocating to a sterile, unfunky one. This process should be done gradually and is similar to the process of decompression that divers must undergo to avoid the bends. In other words: once you get that funk in your trunk, you can't just wake up and dump it out like junk.

I've been staying in New Orleans for a long while, but now it's time to move on to Portland. I need a little defunkification in Memphis before I go though, otherwise I'll end up with a case of acute afunkitis.

defuzzification

The process by which things become less fuzzy in the washing machine

My originally fuzzy blanket became less fuzzy as I put it through the washing machine multiple times and therefore went through defuzzification.
