(pl. n.) People who intentionally attempt to change words that usually end with "-ce" to "-cy" just because they think it "sounds good," often creating words that aren't even real. Common examples include: purposefully saying "persistency" in place of "persistence," "tolerancy" instead of "tolerance," "obediency" rather than "obedience," etc.
