Thumper's Law

Named after the rabbit from Disney's Bambi, whose father told him "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." It is way of teaching of keeping derogatory comments to oneself in respect to those who aren't as able as you are to avoid conflict.
Male 1: Man, that a-hole is such a-
Male 2: Hey, remember Thumper's Law man.
Male 1: Fine, don't want any problems anyway.

Thumper's Law

A term that originated in BlogTalkRadio's show, The Pink Atheist chat forum by beautifulblckatheist.

Thumper's Law states when a potentially controversial topic is discussed online (FB, Twitter, Tumblr, website etc), it's expected that certain bible thumpers (BTs) will display the inability to show restraint and refrain from commenting on a topic they vehemently disagree with.

BTs will invoke Thumper's Law by: A) bringing god immediately into the argument. B) cherry pick bible scriptures in order to support their position. C) lament about the imminent return of jesus' 2nd coming. D) issue a futile threat of 'hell' as a form of intimidation if someone disagrees with BT. E) may tag team other BTs into the argument. F) resort to personal attacks and then 'leave' the argument-but will watch the conversation progress without commenting. G) When all else fails, they will exclaim they're offended at the offensive content even though they voluntarily came to the conversation on their own volition. Not satisfied, they will then proceed to report the page, status, tweet etc- as spam/abusive/hateful etc as a way of punishing those who dare to blatantly oppose the bible and its god.

The occurrence of any or all of the above means the person (s) is/are guilty of invoking Thumper's Law and has thereby forfeited the argument.
friend 1: Did you hear the good news? Colorado has made same sex marriage and marijuana legal!

friend 2: That's great, everyone should be free to marry the person they love and smoke weed too.

BT: Gays can marry in Colorado too?? Jesus! We are seriously living in the last days, jesus is coming back soon for real!!

friend 1: What's the big deal? If two people love each other why shouldn't they get married?

BT: Because my God said marriage is between a man and a woman.

friend 1: Really.

BT: Yes he did. Being gay is an abomination and god has a special place in hell for homosexuals. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!

friend 2: wait, didn't you tell me you were involved in a same sex relationship for four years? What was her name? And I notice you didn't say anything about weed being made legal.

BT: *embarrassed* Weed comes from god's earth! And I had an ex-gf before I came into the love of christ! He died on the cross and took my sins and now they're white as snow. And why are you all in my business?? That's just why your man is cheating on you with your sister. And you've already met her baby's father-your husband!!

--Clearly BT has invoked Thumper's Law in this conversation.

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.

Huge. Surpassing normal expectations.
I was fishing with a Spinner Bait and a HONKIN pike came after it and hit it . Felt like a lawnmower running over a brick.

Stealthie

when you're holding up your phone and making faces at it, as though you are taking a selfie, but you're really taking a picture of the person across from you or the wall or anything else that seems interesting but you don't want to be caught dead taking a picture of.

This action is often made more convincing by wiggling the eyebrows or opening the mouth, to pretend you're trying to get a Snapchat filter to work.
FRIEND A: "Did you just take a stealthie of me?"

FRIEND B (turning phone around): "no I was just using snapchat's new filter, see?"
