The Lego Effect

The Lego Effect is a strange phenomenon in which a person actively searches for something they need at a specific moment and despite the fact that they have seen the object in question 20 times when they did not need it, they are unable to find it at the time it is needed.
Where is that that straight 2x6 piece?! I saw it twenty goddamn times when I didn't need it!
