Sociotech refers to a class of research that encompasses both social science and information systems approaches to gain insight into human use of technology (e.g., how people's behavior is shaped by the change to, or creation of, technologies, or how technical systems evolve through influence by individual, group, or social forces). Much sociotech research is focused on improving military and intelligence community operations.
