Surfdom

Surfdom (sûrf dum), n. 1. The lack of ability of some people to free themselves from the Internet (and other modern technology), causing them to spend much too much time on the Net, thereby diminishing brain capacity by filling it with too much junk, instead of doing the things they should be doing. 2. Someone who is dom from spending far too much time on the Internet and not enough time in real life. (Alternate spelling: serfdumb.)

Because so many people have gone the way of the surfdom, less people are checking books out of libraries; it is a sad time in which we live.
