An alternative to the traditional forward posture while sitting on a toilet, in which a person sits facing the back of the toilet as opposed to facing outward. The advantages of this position include arm rest while reading, space for resting computers, books, alarm clocks or coffee mugs, and ease of access to the toilet in case of malfunction. The only known disadvantage is the need to remove ones pants or to have a reinforced towel rack to allow for the south paw swing.
Andrew: Damn dude you were in there for so long.

Bruce: Yea man, I was sitting southpaw and was just too comfortable.

Alex: Do you have to take off your pants to sit southpaw?
Bruce: Nah, just give it the ol south paw swing.
