They are idiots by no fault of their own due to being raised by, in and around nothing but bullshit. They are Lacking true knowledge or awareness. They are unaware of the shignorance they possess because excessive bull shit has been fed to them in large quantities disguised as information.
It’s not Bart’s fault he is so shignorant and self important. He was raised by a narcissistic father and homeschooled by his alcoholic mother that made reenact his day for her social media reels.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
