NOT rote learning, it is in fact rope learning with a 'p.'

It is where the educator does all the work and spoon-feeds the students. (Like pulling them along on a rope). It originated from the phrase "showing them the ropes" when teaching someone something. It also links to the idea of memorization as a technique based on repetition. The idea is that one will be able to quickly recall the meaning of the material the more one repeats it.
we are just rope learning in that class.
