When someone interrupts a person to state a fact that nobody asked for, doesn’t contribute to the conversation, and doesn’t benefit the recipients of the fact in any meaningful way, usually with the intent to make oneself appear superior in intelligence to those around them.
John: Yeah, I was talking to Alex yesterday, and josh came in and started redditsplaining me.
Jeff: Really?
John: Yeah, really.
Jeff: He sounds obnoxious.
Jeff: Really?
