Potwash

Potwash - someone/something that is useless, pointless. Derived from the job 'potwash' in which someone who works in a pub/restaurant and only 'washes the pots'.

Calling someone or something a potwash could mean they are stupid, useless, meaningless, pointless, dumb, worthless etc.

Potwash

To live or lodge in a temporary residence, especially with a live-in landlord away from home for purpose of quick work commuting.

Word origin: A landlord offered to wash the used pots or containers of rice for the worker lodging with her. She said she will wash his pots. Ergo "potwash".
