Milspeak

Milspeak (noun)
the specific jargon, whether official or otherwise, of the military culture, usually the US military. Often a contraction or acronym. Milspeak phrases often find their way into common civilian use, often with little or no understanding of their origin. This lack of understanding sometimes results in a new common meaning for the phrase.
"I was three days short when the Dinks wiped the HQ, SOP right? Man that whole furball was FUBAR. My unit got held over past my date, but I caught my ticket early in the landing gear and got evac'ed and shipped anyway, only minus some original equipment. SNAFU."

"Huh?"
