Mekend

A mekend (sometimes "me-kend") is a whole weekend totally devoted to you and only you. It involves a special kind of selfishness where your activities and thoughts only revolve around you. It may mean taking a solo trip, or just being by yourself and catching up on what you like to do. You could even spend a whole mekend in bed.

A mekend at a hotel is best. It means that anonymous helpers can bring you food and drinks, and you don't have to waste any time.

A long mekend may start on a Friday and include Monday too.

1. "After this crazy week, I'm taking off for a mekend."
2. "Fred spent the whole weekend by himself at the beach. He had himself a mekend."
