Term coined by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, refering to epic failure Lindsay Lohan.

Similar to Perez Hilton's La Loca LOLhan
So the LAPD rushed over to Lindsanity LOLhan's Hollywood home Tuesday afternoon after being notified of a break-in at the wacktress' humble abode. The alarm went off.

Police officers found all sorts of evidence of a "potential break-in and ransacking" until the cops realized La Loca Lohan's home has always been a pigsty!

The rage over the Knicks' starting point guard Jeremy Lin who spontaneously stunned the world with his amazing underdog story. He's become an icon for people everywhere, and is drawing widespread attention over the racial boundaries surrounding him and his astounding playing skill. Is one of the more popular "lin-" terms created by the media. Others include "lincredible" or "linning".
Did you see that Knicks-Lakers game? It really gave me some Linsanity.

I'm really gettin' some Linsanity watching Jeremy play.

1. the state of mind of Jeremy Lin fans when he steps on the court. and off the court. this highly contagious phenomenon has led to a series of wins by the Knicks, an increased basketball fandom among the Asians, and the creation of other words with 'lin'

2. basically anything that Jeremy Lin does because he's amazing.

A combination of New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin's last name and the word insanity. It has been used by NBA stars, sports pundits, celebrities and fans alike to describe the phenomenon surrounding the player who went from being overlooked by multiple teams to breaking records in one week. The unlikelihood of this occurrence is what makes it so contagious.
Guy 1: Did you see Jeremy Lin's game winning 3 last night?
Guy 2: Yea man, he's amazing. Linsanity is spreading really quick.

The characteristic word defining a moment of greatness that Jeremy Lin, an NBA player, who was undrafted out of Harvard and nearly cut three times until he was given significant playing time due to desperation for the New York Knicks. Ever since then, he has been starting every game and has been a solid player. This phenomenon is described as "Linsanity"

Hardships that he had to overcome that regard him as an underdog:
-Asian-American of Taiwanese/Chinese descent
-Harvard graduate
-Perseverance despite being undrafted and cut multiple times
-High pressure to perform well as many regard him as the face of Asian American athletics
