Iloco

Shorthand for the Filipino language Ilocano, which is one of several languages spoken in the Philippines.

Ilocano (Pagsasao nga Ilokano) is the third most-spoken native language of the Philippines. An Austronesian language, it is related to such languages as Malay (Indonesian and Malaysian), Tetum, Chamorro, Fijian, Maori, Hawaiian, Samoan, Tahitian, Paiwan and Malagasy. The Ilokanos or Iloko people are the third largest Filipino ethnolinguistic group that mostly reside within the Ilocos Region in the northwestern seaboard of Luzon, Philippines. Most Ilokanos speak the Ilokano language, which has 40 dialects.
