A word used in Namibia to describe a backward minded person or a village minded person. Started as a word used by White people during the Apartheid era to insult people from Oshiwambo Origin. The word was then watered down and commonly used amongst friends synonymous with words such as "Homie" "Fool" and "Bro". It is commonly used when a friend says something stupid.

"Man, why is this sweet potato is sweet?"
"Bra you are a gwerri"

or

"Hey Gwerri, wasup?"
"Hey to you, Gwepa."
