Facebook Check

noun/verb: to inspect the Facebook profile of a potential boyfriend, girlfriend, random hookup to see if he/she is in a relationship before proceeding to make advances. This is done to avoid socially making an ass of oneself. Danger: Sometimes, Facebook Checking may open the door for a Facebook Stalker. This is also done to see if the desired person is loose or stuck up.
"I'm glad I decided to Facebook Check that girl I met at the rave last night. Turns out she's a real ho."

"I know a guy that facebook checked a girl he was in love with, now he's a full blown Facebook Stalker."

" That guy from our school I did the Facebook Check on has had like 50 STDs in the past month or so."

The Facebook Fridge-Check Syndrome

When you are bored or you've been away from Internet access or just whenever you log in to Facebook over and over even though pretty much nothing changes, but you just do it to a) have something to do b) make sure no one's magically done something cool. Called such because it's like when you're hungry or (more likely) bored and so you keep checking the fridge in the hopes that something new and exciting will appear, even though you know it's just week-old leftovers.
Dude 1: Hey, have you noticed Lou's been on Facebook a lot today?

Dude 2: Yeah, he was camping all last week...must have the Facebook Fridge-Check Syndrome.

Facebook Background Check

When you meet someone online, (tinder, plenty of fish, ok Cupid, etc.) and you want to make sure they're not a total psycho before you meet them. So you look them up on Facebook to see what they post, who they're friends with, what pictures you haven't seen, etc. Sometimes you are surprised by what you find...
I was kind of skeptical about Todd, so I ran a Facebook background check to see who he really is...

Facebook Fact-Checker

An AI whose job is to show Facebook users when a post is false, and cite articles to prove it. Unfortunately, it has several major flaws that turn it into a laughing stock:

Problem 1: It is extremely left-wing biased to the point of censorship. You will NEVER see a liberal post getting fact-checked, but by golly, they will slap every conservative post with a "false/misleading info" tag if it paints President Biden in a bad light. (But then again, it's Mark Zuckerberg. What'd you expect?)

Problem 2: It is denser than a black hole. It cannot detect sarcasm in posts at all, and will fact-check the stupidest posts that are obviously jokes.

Problem 3: The sources it cites are often not credible; see Problem 1.

Problem 4: Sometimes, the sources used actually prove that the post is indeed true, which is exactly the opposite of what it's supposed to do.
Facebook Fact-Checkers are as useless as wearing a face mask under the sea.

facebook fact checker

A troll who has no life, or real friends for obvious reasons, constantly stalks his friends list not to contribute in a "friend like" manor but to use google to "fact check" each and every post made and then report how the poster has inaccurately represented their thoughts/opinions.
Me: God Damn Eric is such an annoying fuck - Its almost like he waits for anyone to make a Facebook post so he can google that shit only to try to make his lonely ass look smart.
Alex: eh, he's just a Facebook Fact Checker

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
