Djinn

An alternate spelling to 'jinn'.
(In Arabian or Muslim mythology) an intelligent spirit of lower rank than angels, able to appear in human and animal forms and to posess humans.

"Did you hear what happened to Ellie yesterday?"
"Yeah. Got taken over by a Djinn."
"Pity."

A term used in fantasy fiction and role playing games which refers to a creature much like a genie. These creatures, however, do not give out wishes.

One of the members of our multi-racial party was a djinn. Others were elves, dwarves, and humans.
