A style of music oftentimes revered by both the gringle and the scene subculture. It is a style of rock/metal that utilizes metalcore qualities, such as the breakdown and the high scream. All vocals are either screamed or cleanly sung in a higher pitch. It is a direct descendant of hardcore metal and emo. Typical bands of this genre are Parkway Drive, A Day To Remember, Pierce the Veil, Asking Alexandria, Fall of Troy, and Arsonists Get All The Girls.

Sound: something like the bastard child of emo and metalcore.

Image: Clashing and vibrant colors and patterns with a sometimes cartoonish overtone. Logos of Crossover Grime bands share a similar motif and can be recognized easily when compared.

Etymology: "Crossover," referring to the bridge between emo and metal + "grime," referring to blatant musical similarities it shares with grimecore.
Greg: I was in Hot Topic the other day and all the shirts there are marked by the staple of Crossover Grime bands, that bright orange logo in strange font on purple a purple background, with a picture of like a fucking rabbit. I don't see the appeal.
