An action caused in response to something incredibly stupid. This occurs when one's palm meet their face in such a forceful manner that the palm ends up caving in the skull and making contact with the brain. Probably ends in death.

Guy: My mum just said that 2012 was a good movie... it was really awkward. :/

Girl: Oh geez, that movie was horrible. How could she say that? *brainpalm*

You are walking home and the urge to shit hits you, the brain in your head tells your anus to tighten and you continue walking.
