When your elderly relatives stay and you hear a long reverberating silentish note from the bathroom.
"oh I think I can hear the magical sounds of the parental panpipes".

Person A: Hey man, I think you spilled glue all over the kitchen floor during arts and crafts night.

Person B: Dude, it wasn't arts and crafts night....and that's not glue. Don't go crab walking in there unless you want to get pregmant.

Person A: Oh snap! Too late. I better get myself to manned parenthood.

Burst Parenting 

A parenting method with a mostly negative connotation. The parent ignores the child completely, acting like they don't exist until one small issue arises that is forced upon them by someone else and then the parent bursts into action, usually an over-reaction, until the issue is resolved. Afterwords, returning to their comatose parenting state.
Did you see that woman over-react when that man told her what her child did to him? She must subscribe to the burst parenting method

single parent deal

When a person is able to date/marry somebody who would normally be way out of their league, because they don't care that the person has children. Single parents are often desperate to find somebody who does not mind being around their kids, and therefore will lower their standards for a potential romantic partner.
Seth: "Woah, is that really Jason's new girlfriend?"

Larry: "Yeah."

Seth: "She's gorgeous! And I heard that she got promoted at her job and pretty decent money now. What i she doing with him?"

Larry: "She says that he's great with her kids. He got the single parent deal."

Submarine parent

Parent who lurks beneath the surface but emerges unexpectedly just at the right time.
Mike's mom won't leave him alone, she's a real helicopter parent. Unlike his dad, who gives him space unless stuff goes wrong."

House parent 

A parent that is high strung, obsessive and over protective. A do-gooder and know it all.
Sheila, the PTA president is such a house parent.
