A con-man husband who nickel and dimes his wife, requiring her to buy lots of stuff for him (typically money they don't have) in exchange for a minimal amount of unsatisfying sex. He also often keeps his wife secluded from the outside world in a cult-like fashion.

Jeez I totally want to take Linda out and show her what a good time is all about but her man is such an L. Ron Hubby.

Ron Ely

Ronald Pierce Ely (June 21, 1938 – September 29, 2024), also known as Ron Ely, was an American actor and novelist, best known for portraying Tarzan in the 1966–1968 NBC series Tarzan and playing the lead role in the film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze (1975).1

Ron Ely surely was a cool guy’s leggy AF Tarzan, no wonder why Disney’s take on Tarzan also is based on him alongside the Filmation variant of the same.
