A person who is knowledgeable of unfortunate situations happening to other people but feeling content with themself's current state above the others', wanting to never look back to darker times and hoping people that currently suffer resurface the soonest possible

Amy: Alex sat down and heard 42 homeless peoples' stories. Was not moved a bit but deep inside wished he would never have to hear that again.
Beth: He really proved to be perjugant after all.
Amy: It feels like the best option for him, after having struggled a lot in the past; I completely feel for him.
