Chirp

Slang native to Canada; A chirp is an insult. Usually aimed towards a person, their clothing, hair, family or living situation, designed to either inflict emotional distress or to elicit a similar response 'chirp' to.

It is most similar to a trash talk, though could also be considered banter of the person to who it is addressed is fond of 'chirping'.
