The classic Australian word for the multinational "fast" "food" company, McDonalds, ubiquitous in Australia to the point where you'll get called a pom for calling it by its full name.

maccas

Maccas is a German nickname for McDonalds. Sometimes also called McDoof which means "stupid maccas".

Early German tourists likely introduced it when they couldn't get a decent bratwurst in Australia and then brought the word back home when they told the story.
