well prepcore (mainly in boca raton) is a little hard to explain but this is bassically the "typical" prepcore.

-prepcore are mostly girls
-prepcore girls usually wear like skin thight paul frank pajamas (not jeans or pants)
-often listen to scholastic deth or throwdown
-hair often consists of a mullet style but usually dyed black with highlights.
-wear havy and colorful makeup
-wears black framed glasses and usually sports mouth hardware
-often seen trying to hardcore dance at hXc shows
-is usally so full of themselves
-takes pictures with only half of their faces in the pic or bend down so that their cleavage is exposed and then they scribble over the cleavage (ALWAYS POSTS THE PICS ON MYSPACE)
-mainly bisexual or likes hardcore guys
-either listens to or just listens as joke to old school 90's rap groups like 2 live crew or know like one song by dr.dre
-waers brands like american eagle, paul frank while sporting band tees and shit like that.

A person who dresses using brand name clothes, from American Eagle to Polo. Yes, some are stuck ups but others, like me, are just normal people who are in every club in their school, play every sport that is offered, and makes good grades. I hope everyone who hates preps, which are normally skanks, can sit back one day and realize what a prep really is.

Skank: I hate preps, they're so overachievers who think they're better than everyone else.

Bystander: No they're not, they're just not skanky and have a good fashion sense.

One, male or female, who is completely focused on being popular. Often wear Element skate clothes, and DC apparel. Also, they might yell out cuss words in class when everyone is talking, and they then think they are quite the rebel, even though they don't get in trouble.

R: DEWD! I yelled 'F***' in class, and I didn't get in trouble. OMG I'm such a rebel! Im going to now shop for expensive skate clothes that a real skater would tear up in no time.

As for the slang, prep is used to define people who are chic/elegant, but not extravagant or yuppie in any aspects. It comes from the term "prep school", or "preparatory school", prolly because members of that kinda school are usually both educationally and monetarily wealthy. That does not mean that preps are necessarily either rich or smart, even though people generally assume so. Prep is also used to define groups, such as clicks and nationalities.
