Some straight edge bands had members that started to break edge and they no longer became a band anymore.

When someone who has committed themselves to the intention of not drugging, screwing, boozing, or what-have-you (someone who may identify as straight-edge) falls off the wagon.

This is typically what happens when these seemingly straight edge kids get to college and succumb to the pressure of frat boys/sorority sluts because emos usually do. They need to be taken to the back and shot because god forbid someone "break edge".
