Gypsy tease

metaphorical noun. A situation whereby you expect one thing but experience another; a trick. Originates from the typical gypsy coconut shy at a fair when the coconuts are attached to the poles. You hit one and expect to win, yet you cannot; this is the gypsy tease

Guy 1: Man, that girl came back to my place and was so up for it, but wouldn't put out.
Guy 2: Poor you, you got a gypsy tease.
