You stay up for another day because you fucked up your daily rhytm by being up too late.

You play games, look at the time, it's 2 am.
If you go to sleep now you will most likely not go up in the morning and be late for school/work, so you might aswell stay up (dygna) and be tired as hell whole day, but atleast you wont get fired/miss school.
