Goku's power level, according to Vegeta's scouter.

In the manga, however, Goku's power level was over 8000, and Vegeta was less enthusiastic about it, saying "It's over...8000." What compelled them to change it for the anime, no one knows, but it was a smart move overall.
"Vegeta! What does the scouter say about his power level?!"

"It's over NINE THOUSAAAAAAND!!!"

"What nine thousand??"

nine thousand

Get the Over 9000 mug.
A legendary voice actor responsible for such roles as Gaara from Naruto (possibly, and unfortunately, his most well-known role), Lloyd Asplund from Code Geass, Cu Chaspel from FFCC:RoF, Ingway from Odin Sphere, Juushiro Ukitake from Bleach, and Kain from the DS remake of Final Fantasy 4.

Interestingly enough, his actual voice sounds nothing like any of his voiced roles (except Mugen from Samurai Champloo). In fact, there is no hint of an accent in his everyday voice.
"Oh that is SO NOT the voice of a 12-year-old!" -Me, commenting on Liam O'Brien's voicing of Gaara, who is supposedly 12 years old pre-timeskip

"Sacrifice is such a harsh word. 'Catalyst' sounds so much nicer." -Cu Chaspel
