2. The act of poor football playing/coaching in which the player/coach in question performs inadequately and then covers up that fact by stirring up phony controversy or blaming others.

Did you see Nick Saban Holmgren after the Miami/Steeler game when he should have made it obvious that he wanted to challenge instead of just dropping the red flag at his feet?
