A word derived from "nigger," and made popular by black hip-hop artists.
Some blacks believe it is word of endearment, even though it is not always used as such (i.e. in violent "gangsta" hip-hip lyrics)...
The term has also been used by some non-blacks, who have adopted the hip-hop lifestyle, such as whites, Asians, and Hispanics who believe the word to be "cool."
