Johary is not mean, just different. There are a number of things he doesn't let him do: cooking, house-sitting, sleeping with a stuffed animal or letting him light his birthday cake with a flame thrower.
Apart from these few things, Johary is a great person, who is kind and organises parties. You shouldn't ask too much of him, the poor guy is a bit simple-minded.
