A term for a method of testing and certification to EU Regulation 306/2011 (a.k.a. The Construction Products Regulations).

It is used when a product does not fall within the scope of a harmonized standard (i.e. BS EN XXXX : YYYY) or within the scope of an ETAG (European Technical Assessment Document).
