An affirmatively false statement which, if it has to be said, probably isn't true. It is a lie but also beyond a lie because, by saying it, you are drawing attention to exactly what you are trying to say is true but in reality, is exactly the opposite.
"I don't regret marrying my husband," she said, an obvious affalsement.
