succubus effect

When an object, most often a consumer product draws the subject into buying it defying all logic and rationality and based only on its aesthetic existance. This psychological effect negates the subjects common sense and prior knowledge and lures the victims in like a zombie.
I just bought a mac last week, but it's not my fault, I was under the influence of the succubus effect! I had no control!
