smart fan: that logic is poor, there's plenty of footballers that take up the role of both goalscorer/playmaker and had ballon d'or level stats that aren't considered better than Messi, peak Baggio for example, also it's unfair to say Ronaldo doesn't do enough collectively when Ronaldo's assigned position, restricts that very opportunity. Also also, Ronaldo doesn't have to playmake to be considered more "complete" than Messi as he's involved in a ton of other ways like aeriel threat, runs, counter, WF, etc...
