RKT is a music genre that emerged in the early 2010s. It is characterized by minimalistic, rhythm-centric production heavily influenced by Argentine cumbia styles. RKT mixes cumbia triplets into reggaetón's typical dembow, usually featuring prominent basslines as well. RKT was pioneered by DJs from the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.
