A term used to define the reckless abandonment of a bands' true roots for music that is mainstream and marketable. Weak Sauce is generally applied by big name producers who work to destroy the true meaning of indie music, and make every successful band sound alike.
Common applications of Weak Sauce include:
-Limiting of guitar distortion
-Adding piano or keyboards to otherwise hard guitar rock
-Adding ultra-emotional lyrics
-Backup vocals consisting of oooo, ahhh and whoa
-Slowing down of music
-Complete genre change from one album to the next
