Simply put when correctly modified, it is capable of going against high end Ferrari and/or Lambos. Some of its respected competitors in the Japaniese automotive industry are Mazda RX-7 and Toyota Supra.
The Nissan Skyline in 2 Fast 2 Furious is not a GT-R, that is because ALL GT-Rs are AWD, and with the one in the movie is RWD. I know that because once the race starts in the begening of the movie, the rear tires spin like crazy, while the front have no effect, they just roll.
