Commupulsion

Derived from the German Gemeinschaftszwang, commupulsion refers to a social pressure for conformity that arises when a group overvalues unity, harmony, and consensus. It forces individuals to adapt by suppressing individuality, criticism, or dissenting opinions to maintain a "we-feeling."
While modern corporate culture often praises 'radical transparency' and 'team synergy,' we frequently ignore the darker side of these social dynamics: commupulsion. In an era of 'culture fits,' we must ask ourselves whether we are building genuine communities or merely enforcing a commupulsion that silences necessary dissent.
