1. Complicated; convoluted; requiring significant mental effort or an unconventional strategy to navigate or understand. Used to describe a task, process, or situation that is unexpectedly difficult due to layers of complexity or obscure rules.

2. Relating to a difficult decision where all options are flawed, or a situation with an underlying, hard-to-define oddness.
