Sling

The sling is mankind's first true projectile weapon, it consists of two cords with a pouch in between. Used for casting stones or another projectile, usally an egg shaped clay or lead projectile. A sling attached to a shaft is called a shaft sling. A sling that fires a dart is called a kestrosphendone. A trebuchet is basically a large shaft sling.
That kid over there broke my window with a sling, let's go get him.
