hoor

A mildly abusive, and sometimes affectionate, term for for someone who is regarded as eccentric or mean. Of Irish origin, 'hoor' can still be heard in Irish-descendant communities in western Victoria, Australia (particularly Koroit). The term has also been heard being used by a New Zealander of Irish ancestry.
