Mary Edith

A term originating in southern Texas, a Mary Edith is a shot or pull of whiskey. Although its exact origin is unknown, it is commonly heard on college campuses throughout Texas. When asked why a shot or pull of whiskey was called a Mary Edith, the most common response was "because it's like a slap to the face".
Let's all take a Mary Edith!
