Steffen, Williams, and Bernard's definitions
To beg for or plead for items, such as money, cigarettes, or beer. Typically, this term is only applicable when begging or pleading to complete strangers or people who do not even like you. Often, one is told that there will be some form of payback for the item, but in the fine mcmillan tradition, this never occurs.
