funeral close

A relationship yardstick. You're so close with someone that you would go to their funeral if they died.

So who's this girl Beryl I hear about?

Just a friend. We're not even funeral close.

When someone promises you breakfast but doesn't deliver.

Hey Steve, where's the food we were promised for this 9am meeting?

I dunno Lee, I think we got bageled.
